Bath and West Community Energy (BWCE) has successfully raised the money to purchase a solar PV farm near Crewkerne, Its combined share and bond offer raised £2.63million to help purchase the farm. The remaining balance of £3.33million will be raised through a commercial loan. The farm will produce enough electricity to provide about 1,600 homes with clean green renewable electricity.
BWCE’s renewable capacity is now 12MW making it the largest community enterprise of its type in the UK, with enough capacity to provide electricity for 3,900 homes.
