BWCE Community Public Meeting
January 9 @ 6:30 am - 8:00 pm
Bath & West Community Energy have been successful in signing up half of our target of 30 volunteers for our Flex Community pilot project to test and develop the Stemy Energy smart app aimed at reducing carbon emissions, helping the grid manage supply and demand better and ultimately making it easier to supply renewable energy directly to villages and small neighbourhoods.
We are now looking for more residents who meet the following criteria to join them in the New Year.
- Live in Bath & North East Somerset or adjoining areas (e.g. Bradford on Avon, Corsham, Trowbridge, Marshfield).
- Keen to do something practical about the climate crisis.
- Use an electric immersion heater to heat water (either as the main source or as a back-up).
Ultimately, the project will broaden out from hot water heating to integrate solar pv, heat pumps and electric vehicle charging and will provide a service to help people identify what technology to install to help reduce carbon emissions. We have recently been accepted onto the Next Generation Innovation Fund to help us develop a sustainable business model for these developments. For an overview of the project go to Flex Community
Anyone who is interested in joining our hot water pilot or keen to find out about future developments is invited to attend our next public meeting:
