Transition Bath Draughtproofing, Thermal Imaging and LED Lighting Workshop

Wed 12 Nov 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn how to stop draughts and check out the latest low energy lighting options for your home. You will learn about basic techniques and materials, and then have a go yourself. Learn some new skills, and go home a professional draught-buster!

The workshop will start with a general introduction to heat loss, draught-proofing and insulation. We will then split into smaller groups and rotate through 4 expert led workshops:

  1. draught proofing of windows and doors, and in particular sash windows
  2. general insulation techniques including radiator reflectors, and floor board draught-proofing
  3. how to upgrade your halogen downlighters to LEDs and save £75 per year
  4. Thermal imaging: the basics of using the camera, resulting photos and how to interpret them

The location – the Museum of Bath Collection is apposite as its recently had a thermal imaging survey, draught proofing (directed by the thermal imaging survey) and LED lighting installed.

If you don;t have time to get involved in all the workshops it will be possible to pick the order in which you rotate through the workshops and potentially leave early – although we would encourage everyone to stay as there is lots of useful stuff to learn! Previous workshop similar to this have had very good feedback.

You need to book this free event in advance via Eventbrite (click on website link immediately below) – so we can manage numbers.
