DESCRIPTION:Join a small friendly group from Achieve Together Educational Day Services in Bath for a gentle walk while litter picking as we chat in English and BSL\, to help keep our local area tidy. We love introducing people to BSL and you might even learn some basic signs for nature! \nWe provide litter pickers\, bags and high-vis vests but bring your own if preferred. All welcome to join this accessible walk around the local Twerton area for up to an hour. No experience of BSL or litter picking necessary. \nPlease note this event is drop-in – no booking neccessary! \nAccessibility information\nShort accessible walk along pavements for up to an hour circling Poolemead local area. Likely road crossing at own risk. Aiming for walk to be wheelchair-friendly. Children must be supervised. \nTravel information\nWe will be meeting outside Poolemead\, Watery Lane\, Twerton\, Bath\, BA2 1RN. Buses stop outside Poolemead. On-street free parking in nearby streets around Poolemead. Bike racks are a short 5-minute walk away in Twerton village high street outside local shops. No toilet facilities available except for customers of local cafes. \nAbout the Festival\nThis event is part of the Festival of Nature Community Programme\, which has over 80 events happening across nine days from 6-14 June. DESCRIPTION:Come and join local performance poet Jo Butts at Charlcombe Nature Reserve for an informal wander through the reserve to explore a few poetry writing techniques in the wonderful world of nature! With guidance\, we’ll take time to sit and write some thoughts and share ideas with the group. We’ll curate a group poem during the session to share on the reserve socials and website afterwards. Bring a notebook and something to write with\, and prepare for all weathers! BSL support incorporated. Booking is essential and places are limited. \nAccessibility information\nSteep slopes\, grassy 0fields\, muddy paths\, uneven\, narrow paths with tree roots and stones in places. Main field may be partially accessible for off-road wheelchairs – if you have accessibility needs and would like to join please message us so we can adapt a route.\nBSL support incorporated. \nTravel information\nKissing gate at the top of the reserve accessible via Charlcombe way. (Larger 5-bar gate nearby can be accessed with prior notice.) No parking on Charlcombe way\, parking on-street nearby on Solsbury Way and other surrounding roads.
