SUMMARY:Green Screen: Ackroyd & Harvey: The Art Of Activism + Short Film Homecoming + Q&A
DESCRIPTION:When does practice become protest? Or protest\, poetry? An intimate portrait of internationally acclaimed artists\, Heather Ackroyd & Dan Harvey\, who work at the intersection of art\, activism\, biology and ecology\, and their quest to shake humanity into action on climate catastrophe – whatever the personal cost. \nThis screening is hosted in partnership with Transition Bath and includes a Q&A with filmmaker Fiona Cunningham-Reid. \nGreen Screen is a community-led space to discuss environmentally-focused cinema\, with expert panels and friendly post-screening discussions. Everyone is welcome to ‘continue the conversation’ after the film in your cinema’s meeting space where you can enjoy a free tea or filter coffee when you bring a keep cup! \nHomecoming (2025) is a short poetry film by Carrie Etter and Matt Haw. Drawing on the idea that in heedless times\, an act of attention can amount to an act of resistance\, the film explores a relational ecology between voice\, body and landscape. Set on Little Solsbury Hill in Bath\, Homecoming weaves language\, image\, and sound into a lyrical meditation on common land\, ecological presence\, and the often porous boundaries between human and natural worlds. \nBook tickets.

SUMMARY:The Line We Crossed with speaker
DESCRIPTION:Activists face arrests and harsh sentences for protesting new fossil fuel projects. As resistance grows\, new laws restrict protest rights. \nAs we fail to address the climate crisis\, activists cross the line into civil disobedience with chilling consequences for their lives and our protest rights. A British story of dissent\, drawn from the frontlines of climate resistance. Through the experiences of those who stood in defiance\, it traces the quiet unraveling of our protest rights. The film challenges audiences to question what makes dissent effective and where the line of acceptability is. \nGet your tickets
