During weekend of November 4th and 5th Green Open Homes B&NES 18 homes will be open to the public in Bath and further 6 homes in the Chew Valley. The homes will showcase a wide range of measures applied to Georgian listed, Victorian, modern and art deco homes, illustrating how you can make your home more sustainable, the measures include:
draughtproofing | secondary glazing | double glazing |
triple glazing | mechanical ventilation and heat recovery | 6 different types of internal wall insulation |
heat pumps | solar PV | solar thermal |
solar batteries | underfloor insulation | behaviour change |
efficient hot water cylinders | vacuum glazing | passive solar gain |
You can have a good look at the technology, ask the home owners about the installation , discuss options without talking to salespersons and find out much they’re really saving on their energy bills as a result.
The weekend is a partnership between BWCE, B&NES Buro Happold, Bath Preservation Trust, and Transition Bath. There will also be an associated talk programme before the weekend.
More information is available here: Home – Green Homes B&NES (greenopenhomesbanes.org) and booking will open soon – we will let you know as soon as it becomes available.
