Fantastic plastics! Whether we like it or not, plastics are almost impossible to avoid. They are very useful! In fact, they make possible many familiar aspects of present-day life.

In this talk Professor Matthew Jones will discuss what makes plastics such a versatile class of materials and how important they are to modern society. But plastics pose a serious environmental problem once they have been used! Matthew will also discuss end-of-life options for plastics and current methods to recycle them.

Professor Matthew Jones, Department of Chemistry, University of Bath
