Explore the magic of the River Avon and the passionate people fighting to keep it alive in Rave On For The Avon – a bold, moving documentary that immerses you in the heart of river activism Bristol-style.
This feature-length film invites viewers to follow a diverse group of locals who care deeply about the Avon, capturing the joy, frustration and love they experience over an intense 18-month journey. Meet unforgettable individuals like Lindsey, a modern-day mermaid who bravely swims the Bristol Channel towing an unexpected message, and Meg, who expresses her devotion through an extraordinary river marriage. You’ll also encounter the Conham Bathing Group, a grassroots team who test the water themselves to protect their treasured river.
The film pulses with a soundtrack from celebrated Bristol artists like Elder Island, Ngaio and Maz McNamara, setting the stage for a powerful story of community and connection.
Join us for this special screening at The Little Theatre in Bath. After the film, stay for a thought-provoking panel discussion hosted in partnership with Transition Bath – an opportunity to delve into ongoing local initiatives for safeguarding our rivers.
