A bottle, jars of preserves and some vegetables placed on a table

Soft fruit is wonderful this time of year but it all often ripens at the once creating a problem of how to deal with it all.

In this workshop you’ll learn how to:

  • Preserve your summer fruits by bottling (with or without sugar). Bottled fruit keeps well for a year at room temperature and is a good alternative to freezing fruit.
  • Make a really rich redcurrant jelly that does not involve strigging the berries
  • Make a fruit cheese (like a really thick jam) that does not involve stoning, peeling or strigging fruit. This is useful method for dealing with cherries, plums, damsons, gooseberries, blackberries and windfall apples, quinces and pears.

You won’t be making anything at this workshop but you’ll receive all the recipes and there will be tasters available of all the drinks.

Please bring a plate, table knife, spoon and cup.

We are asking for a donation of £15 to attend this 2-hour workshop. We do not want to exclude anyone from attending based on cost, so please change the donation amount if you are unable to pay the full price.
