Local authorities have the power to reduce total emissions in their area by one-third. The BANES Council was one of the first to declare a Climate Emergency and to formulate a Climate Emergency Action Plan. Transition Bath believes in working with the Council, supporting its actions when it is appropriate but acting as a critical friend when needed. We need a volunteer to keep a watching brief on council policies and actions, to engage with officers and councillors and to coordinate existing contacts between Transition Bath and the Council.
