Home Projects LED Lighting

Transition Bath’s long running LED lighting project aims to help residents to transition to LED lighting LED lights can be up to 10 times more efficient and therefore up to 10 times lower in carbon emissions and running costs than other types of lighting.

The project’s particular focus is on halogen downlighters. For example a kitchen may have 15 halogen downlights consuming 750 watts, costing £300 per year to run, LED equivalents could reduce this to £30 per year.

We have made a number of boxes of example LED lights available for loan from Bath Central Library:

This allows residents to ‘try before you buy’.

We also provide advice on how to replace traditional lighting, particularly if you need to replace existing dimmers to more compatible LED dimmers.
