Emma has been a trustee of Transition Bath since September 2023. She volunteers for the communications team, focusing on the website, social media and the newsletter. Born in Portland, Dorset, she has a love of the sea and was brought up to appreciate countryside traditions, animals, landscape and the natural world. She was also taught to stand up and be counted and not accept the status quo as a default. An early memory of hers is accompanying her mother in the 1980s to the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp, established to protest against nuclear weapons. With a background in the arts, she has worked as an editor for illustrated non-fiction books and as an editor and writer for magazines, including her current role as editor of local lifestyle magazine, The Bath Magazine. She loves interviewing new people for the magazine and getting insights into their lives and work.
