Our downlighter kit which can be used to try our a selection of 40 different GU10 and MR16 LED bulbs has had lots of positive feedback since was made available to borrow from Bath Central Library in December.

Feedback includes:

I think the tester kit is a truly brilliant idea!

In my mother-in-law’s kitchen, where she wanted to replace nine halogen lights, we seemed to have a choice between a warm white and a cool white dimmable bulb. I was quite surprised that she preferred the latter

We were very impressed with the bulbs, especially as we changed to low energy bulbs (non LED) in the lounge and dining room a few years ago. The LED bulbs were so much quicker to turn on than our existing low energy bulbs and the brightness was in a different league! We’re going to replace all the GU10 bulbs in the house (36 in total) and the MR16 bulbs in the kitchen and bathroom

What an amazing piece of kit. It is essential for making a sensible selection from the great number of LEDs available.

Thanks for the amazing LED box! Using that I have found a dimmable LED for my dad who refused to switch as he thought LEDs were not dimmable.

If you would like to reduce your lighting electricity bill by a factor of 10 you can book the kit by either going to or phoning the library: more information is available here: www.transitionbath.org/ledkit

We are hoping with the aid of a grant to produce more kits to increase the number of homes that will benefit economically from switching to LEDs.
