Chelwood, a small village 10 miles to the west of Bath has raised nearly £2.5 million via their share offer to build 5MW solar farm. The building of the 5MW of ground-mounted solar panel on 22 acres of farmland next to Chelwood village will start very soon. The farm is predicted to generate 4,800 MWh of green electricity each year, enough to provide electricity for 1,200 homes. The projected carbon savings of the project are estimated to be 55,524 tonnes of CO2 over 25 years.
