A while ago, the Bath Wombles took to the streets – grabbing litter pickers, donning hi-vis and quietly cleaning up public spaces across the city. It was simple, low-key and surprisingly joyful. No grand campaigns. Just people showing up and making things a bit better.
Over time, the scheme lost momentum. Life got busy, seasons changed and without anyone to keep things ticking, it gently faded out.
Now, we’d love to bring it back but this time with more shared ownership from the start.
We’re looking for a small group of people to help reboot the project. That could mean leading occasional litter picks, helping organise equipment or just making sure it doesn’t quietly fizzle again. You don’t need to commit to anything big or formal – just be up for helping shape something light, useful and community-powered.
We’ll still run regular picks for anyone who just wants to turn up and take part – no pressure, just good company and a satisfying bag of rubbish at the end. But to really bring the Bath Wombles back to life, we need a few people to help steer the ship (or, perhaps, push the cart).
If that might be you, let us know using the form on the Wombles opportunity page,
Let’s womble. Again.
