U3A get Eco Together

Members of Bath’s University of the Third Age (U3A) recently came together at the beautiful Community Pavilion in Sydney Gardens to learn about Eco Together. The group of 14 U3A members who attended the workshop are part of the Climate Environment Actionists’ Group led by Anne French.

Eco Together is a programme enabling participants to take action by starting their own small group addressing the climate crisis. The programme enables participants to talk about the issues together and how to find solutions within their family, friends, or in their neighbourhood.

The U3A members learned about the powers we all have to make a change to our lifestyle and within our community, using our communication and advocacy powers. They then took part in a mini-workshop where they discussed in small groups what they are already doing to help protect our planet and what they would like to do in the future.

Ideas that were put forward included speaking up when someone in your household wastes energy, like leaving a hot tap running, and trying to live for a month without creating any waste.
