Bath Wombles joined forces with Cllr Saskia Heijltjes’ team for the Great Avon Litter Pick along the river at Kensington Meadows. It was the first meeting for the Bath Wombles but The Great Avon Litter Pick is an annual event organised by the #NoPlaceForLitter Steering Group in
We heard woodpeckers and birdsong and the calls of canoeists as they passed by on the murky water. The weather stayed dry for the 2-hour litter pick and although the area didn’t initially seem particularly littered, we managed to collect quite a haul of rubbish – 29 bags all together.
One of Saskia’s team is subsequently planning some follow-up actions with both the Council and Morrisons to try and stop the fly tipping around the car park.
