Pedal Power and Eco Together at the 3SG Volunteer Fair

Together with more than 40 other charitable organisations, Transition Bath had a stall at the 3SG Volunteer Fair at the Apex Hotel on September 1st to showcase our volunteering opportunities and for visitors to the Fair to find out more about how to get involved.

Trek Bikes kindly loaned us an ebike and we used it to encourage visitors to try to attain an average speed of 10 mph for one minute. Easier said than done, but well done to all those who gave it a go! This gave us the opportunity to talk about using pedal power as opposed to petrol power to get around the city and even the Deputy Mayor, Dr Bharat Pankhania, was asking for advice on the best ebike for him to buy for himself.

In the afternoon, the Eco Together team led a workshop entitled “Four main powers for change: how can individuals make a difference?” where they demonstrated how volunteers can be empowered within their own lives and also engage a wider community to make a real difference.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering with us, including working with our ebike project, please have a look at the current opportunities on our website.
